Second Annual Walk-A-Thon Saturday, May 2, 2009


Saturday, May 2, 2009 marked the 2nd Annual Marcella McDermott Shcolarship Walk-A-Thon. John G. Jones Grand Chapter, Inc., OES under the jurisdiction of the Most Worshipful George Washington Carver Grand Lodge, Inc., AF & AM of Massachusetts was the host of this event. The walk covered a 6 mile stretch through Franklin Park in Dorchester MA. It was a delightful event and all of the participants had a great time.

A special thanks to the, members, family and friends who gathered together at the Russell Auditorium to begin the 6 Mile journey. The purpose of the Walk-A-Thon is to raise money to help support high school graduates in Massachusetts who meet the qualifying criteria with scholarship funds to assist them as they further their education.

We hope that you will join us again next year and encourage others to participate.
